The PRS SE Custom 24-08 Quilt is for players who enjoy finding the right pickup combination for each part. In this 2026 Lake Blue version, a quilted maple veneer and ebony fingerboard accompany the model’s most useful feature: independent switching for each humbucker. It gives you more ways to shape a sound at the guitar, whether you’re recording layered parts or covering different styles in a live set.
A familiar platform for chords and lead work
The body pairs a maple top with a mahogany back and shallow violin carve. A set, multi-ply maple neck uses PRS’s Wide Thin profile, with a 25-inch scale and 24 frets. The ebony fingerboard has a 10-inch radius and bird inlays. For players who prefer a relatively slim neck, it’s a practical layout for switching between rhythm playing and upper-register lead lines.
What do the eight pickup configurations offer?
The two TCI “S” humbuckers each have a mini-toggle switch for selecting humbucker or single-coil mode. Choose either pickup on its own, or use both together with the three-way toggle. In the middle position you can combine a full humbucker with a single-coil sound, as well as using both pickups in the same mode. That’s the practical benefit of the 24-08: you can make those choices independently.
A good fit for players who like options
If you often adjust pickup combinations before reaching for a pedal or changing an amp setting, this model gives you plenty to explore. Master volume and tone controls handle everyday adjustments, while the PRS tremolo adds vibrato. Choose it for the independent switching and TCI “S” pickups as much as the Lake Blue quilted top; those are the features that make it a different proposition from the Custom 24 Quilt.
