The PRS SE A60E in Cobalt Blue Burst is an electro-acoustic for players who want an instrument for both unplugged playing and amplified use. A solid Sitka spruce top and ziricote back and sides sit alongside an ebony fingerboard, figured maple detailing and abalone appointments. The blue burst gives it a distinctive appearance, but the cutaway, onboard electronics and included hard case are just as useful when choosing a guitar to live with.

An acoustic voice with a rounded character

PRS describes the A60E’s voice as favouring a full low end and softer highs, giving it a vintage-leaning character. That makes it worth considering if you prefer a rounder acoustic sound for picked accompaniments and fingerstyle parts. Its solid spruce top uses PRS’s hybrid X/classical bracing, combining an X brace with fan bracing to support the top while allowing it to vibrate.

Comfort and access across the neck

The Angelus cutaway leaves more room for your fretting hand when you venture beyond open-position chords. A Wide Fat mahogany neck offers a fuller profile, paired with a 25.3-inch scale, 20 frets and an ebony fingerboard. Abalone bird inlays, curly maple binding, and a bone nut and saddle complete the instrument’s appointments.

Simple controls for amplified playing

The PRS-voiced Fishman Presys VT system uses an undersaddle pickup, with volume and tone controls mounted inside the soundhole. You can adjust your level and tonal balance at the guitar when using an acoustic amplifier or a suitable PA connection. It’s a practical arrangement for moving from playing at home to rehearsals, open-mic nights and gigs.

A hard case and a proper check before dispatch

A hardshell case is included, so remember to factor that in when comparing the A60E with guitars supplied without one.
