Ortega RSTC5M-L Student Series Left-Handed Classical Guitar – Natural

A closer look

The Ortega RSTC5M-L Student Series is a full-size left-handed classical guitar aimed at players who want a proper traditional layout from the start. Rather than adapting a right-handed instrument, this model is built specifically for left-handed use, making it a much more sensible choice for lessons, home practice and anyone beginning classical, fingerstyle or general nylon-string guitar.

The cedar top is paired with catalpa back and sides, giving the guitar a traditional wood construction at an accessible price point. Ortega uses laminated construction for the top, back and sides, which makes sense on a student instrument where consistency and everyday durability matter. The body is finished in natural matte satin, with ABS binding and a classical soundhole rosette keeping the appearance clean and familiar.

The mahogany neck uses Ortega’s Traditional Neck profile and a satin finish, while the walnut fingerboard carries 19 frets. Its 25.59-inch scale length is standard territory for a full-size classical guitar, and the 52mm (2.05-inch) nut gives the wider string spacing that classical players expect. That extra room is useful for developing clean fretting technique and fingerstyle accuracy. A two-way adjustable setup is not listed by the manufacturer for this model, so no truss-rod specification has been assumed.

The walnut Ortega six-hole bridge and classical machine heads complete a straightforward specification built around learning and reliable everyday use. If you are comparing beginner options, you can also browse our classical guitars and left-handed guitars.
