A closer look

The Ortega GRSUITE-TCE sits within Ortega’s The Private Room collection and takes the familiar nylon-string format in a more contemporary direction. It is a full-size, six-string electro-acoustic classical guitar with a cutaway body, a slim Okoume neck and a 48mm nut. Those dimensions make it particularly interesting for players who enjoy the softer feel and response of nylon strings but prefer a neck that is less broad than a traditional classical design. The 25.59-inch scale keeps the instrument firmly in full-size territory while maintaining the familiar tension and response expected from a nylon-string guitar.

A solid Alpine spruce top provides the soundboard, paired with rosewood back and sides featuring a maple stripe. This combination is well suited to players looking for clarity, projection and definition, whether they are playing fingerstyle, classical repertoire, Latin-inspired parts or nylon-string arrangements in a contemporary setting. Rosewood is also used for the fingerboard, bridge and body binding, while the body itself has a gloss finish. An additional side soundhole is positioned to direct more of the guitar’s acoustic voice towards the player, which can be particularly useful when practising or performing without amplification.

For stage and recording use, the GRSUITE-TCE is fitted with Ortega’s rechargeable Magus Pro/G-RC electronics. The cutaway gives easier access to the upper frets, making this a practical option for players who move beyond first-position classical technique into lead work and more modern fingerstyle playing.
