Northstar Littlestar NL1MC Mini Electric Guitar – Morello Cherry

Compact dimensions, familiar electric-guitar design

The Northstar Littlestar NL1MC is a mini electric guitar for players who want a smaller instrument without moving away from a familiar solid-body layout. The 580mm scale shortens the overall reach, while the double-cutaway body keeps the shape recognisable and provides access along the neck in the usual way. The Morello Cherry finish gives the NL1MC a little more visual character than a plain black instrument, but the real reason to consider it is the combination of reduced dimensions and conventional electric-guitar specification. For younger players, smaller hands or anyone specifically seeking a compact electric guitar, it is a sensible alternative to simply struggling with a full-size model.

What the specification means in practice

Northstar uses a poplar body with a maple neck and Roseacer stripe, plus a laurel fingerboard. The manufacturer states a 580mm scale length, so the frets sit closer together and the instrument has less overall reach than a typical full-scale electric. That is the main practical advantage of the Littlestar format. Three ceramic single-coil pickups provide a familiar three-pickup arrangement, while chrome die-cast machine heads are listed as standard. There are no exaggerated features here: the NL1MC is built around straightforward, recognisable guitar components and a smaller scale. When comparing it with other beginner guitars, the important question is simply whether that reduced size will suit the player better.

A good fit for the right player

The NL1MC is best suited to younger beginners, players with a shorter reach, or anyone who actively prefers a compact electric guitar. It can also make sense as a portable second instrument, although the 580mm scale will naturally feel different from a conventional full-size guitar. Zebra Music has been a family-run guitar shop since 1983, and every guitar is checked before sale or dispatch. If you are buying a first instrument and are unsure about size, we would rather help you choose the right format than simply sell the smallest option. You can also compare it with our wider selection of guitars before deciding.
