Northstar Littlestar NL1BK Mini Electric Guitar – Solid Black

A proper electric guitar in a smaller format

The Northstar Littlestar NL1BK is a compact mini electric guitar aimed at players who want the layout and feel of a conventional solid-body electric in a noticeably smaller package. Its 580mm scale reduces the overall reach compared with a typical full-size instrument, while the double-cutaway body keeps the familiar shape and upper-fret access many players expect from this style of guitar. Finished in Solid Black, it has a straightforward, traditional look rather than feeling like a novelty-sized instrument. For younger players, smaller hands or anyone specifically looking for a compact electric guitar, that combination makes the NL1BK well worth considering.

Useful specifications without unnecessary complication

The body is poplar, paired with a maple neck featuring a Roseacer stripe and a laurel fingerboard. The 580mm scale is one of the key points here: it shortens the distance between frets and reduces the overall reach of the instrument, which can make the guitar more manageable for players who find a standard scale cumbersome. Electronics are kept familiar with three ceramic single-coil pickups, giving the NL1BK a recognisable three-pickup electric-guitar layout without adding unnecessary complexity. Chrome die-cast machine heads complete the manufacturer-listed hardware specification. If you are comparing compact instruments with other beginner guitars, the important point is that this is a genuine playable electric guitar with proper guitar proportions scaled down for easier handling.

Who is the NL1BK for?

This model makes most sense for younger beginners, players with a shorter reach, or guitarists who simply prefer a more compact instrument. It can also be a useful second guitar where portability matters, provided the shorter scale is what you are looking for. Zebra Music is a family-run UK guitar shop established in 1983, and every guitar is checked before sale or dispatch. We focus on clear advice rather than overselling specifications, so if you are unsure whether a Littlestar or a full-size model is the better fit, browse our wider range of guitars or get in touch and we will help you compare them.
