Epiphone B.B. King Lucille Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar (Pre-Owned) – Ebony

Epiphone B.B. King Lucille Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar (Pre-Owned) – Ebony

Pay tribute to one of the greatest blues guitarists of all time with this Epiphone B.B. King Lucille, a beautifully crafted semi-hollow electric guitar that captures the look, feel and unmistakable character of B.B. King’s legendary Lucille. Finished in classic Ebony with elegant multi-ply binding and gold hardware, the Lucille combines timeless styling with an incredibly versatile tonal palette.

Unlike a traditional ES-style guitar, the Lucille features a semi-hollow body without f-holes, helping to reduce unwanted feedback while maintaining the warmth, resonance and sustain that made B.B. King’s famous guitar such an icon. A pair of Epiphone humbuckers deliver everything from rich, singing blues leads and smooth jazz tones to classic rock crunch, while the onboard six-position Varitone switch offers an impressive range of additional tonal colours to suit almost any style of music.

The comfortable SlimTaper-style neck and bound fingerboard provide a familiar and effortless playing experience, while premium appointments including the TP-6 fine-tuning tailpiece, gold hardware, block inlays and “Lucille” headstock inlay complete this instantly recognisable instrument.

This guitar is supplied with a quality non-original hard case for added protection.

Condition

This Epiphone B.B. King Lucille is in very good overall condition for its age. The finish has been well looked after, with no major dents, chips or significant scratches. There are a few light surface scratches on the back of the body and some very light cosmetic marks on the front that are only visible under certain lighting. Overall, it presents exceptionally well and retains an excellent appearance.

This guitar does not have a serial number present. Based on the construction, appointments and overall specification, we believe this to be an early Korean-made Epiphone Lucille. Many Korean-built Epiphone guitars from this period used serial number stickers or decals on the rear of the headstock, and we believe this sticker has been removed or has come away at some point in the guitar’s history. As a result, we are unable to verify the exact year of manufacture.

There is also a visible witness line at the neck scarf joint beneath the lacquer. We are unable to confirm whether this is simply the original scarf joint becoming more visible through the finish over time or evidence of a historic repair. The guitar has been thoroughly inspected, is structurally sound, plays superbly and all electronics function exactly as they should.

As with every pre-owned guitar we sell at Zebra Music, this instrument has been professionally checked, fully tested and set up before sale, ensuring it is ready to play straight out of the case.

Please note: this is a pre-owned instrument and as such may have signs of wear and tear. We have tried to capture any damage in the photos provided so please study them carefully before placing an order. If you would like any additional photos then please get in touch.
