DeArmond Starfire Custom 1998 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar (Pre-Owned) – Natural

DeArmond Starfire Custom – Natural – 1998 – Pre-Owned

A superb example of one of the most highly regarded guitars from DeArmond’s late-1990s range, this 1998 Starfire Custom combines classic semi-hollow styling with a pair of desirable USA-made DeArmond Gold Tone humbuckers.

Built in Korea and finished in Natural, the Starfire Custom takes much of its inspiration from the classic Guild Starfire design. The double-cutaway semi-hollow body offers plenty of acoustic resonance and an open, lively response, while the set maple neck and rosewood fingerboard give it a comfortable, familiar feel.

A major part of the appeal of these guitars is the pair of USA-made DeArmond Gold Tone humbuckers. Clearer and more articulate than many traditional humbuckers, they deliver warm, rounded neck tones alongside a punchy and defined bridge sound, making the Starfire equally at home with jazz and blues through to classic rock, indie and roots styles. Individual volume and tone controls for each pickup, together with a three-way selector, provide plenty of tonal flexibility.

The guitar is completed by traditional appointments including body and fingerboard binding, twin f-holes, a black scratchplate and DeArmond’s distinctive harp-style tailpiece.

Condition

This guitar is in excellent condition for its age, with the only notable signs of use being some light scratches to the scratchplate. The body, neck and hardware have been exceptionally well preserved and the Natural finish has developed a particularly attractive warm amber appearance over the years.

The guitar has been fully checked, cleaned and set up by ourselves.

Supplied with a hard case.
